Blog 1 “Who are you and why are you taking this course”
  This is my first Blog that I’m doing for IB literature & performance class and I would like to start it with introducing myself. My name is Ivan Kapkov, I’m from Russia this, this is my third year in Cheshire Academy and this year I’m Junior. This is my first year playing Varsity soccer after 2 years of playing in Jv soccer. This year  is the biggest year for high school student and this year is the year when I need to work ass hard as it possible.

The first interesting fact about me is  as I said I play soccer, and soccer for me is not only a game or strategy it’s also what I might do in future as my full time job. I’m not only interested in playing this sport but I’m also interested in volunteering on the biggest event that is going to happen in Russia in 2018 “Fifa World Cup 2018”. This job can give the experience that I will carry for a long time and that going to help me after graduating high school and college.


Second interesting fact about me is that I started my high school in America as a freshman in Cheshire academy. It was a hard times for me because it was my first time studying abroad, it was my first time having such a diverse school community. Sometimes I missed my family as other students do but I overcame  through this by learning, getting new experience and new friendships. After four & half months of studying in Cheshire academy 

I was obligated to live school because of my family problems. My sophomore year I came back and continued education in Cheshire Academy, and it will be an honor to graduate here.  

Last interesting fact about me is that I spent more time in America than I do in Russia. Wheel is obvious that I go to school in US but I also live here and stay here for most of my breaks because my family has a house in NYC. This city and this country because a big part of me and my second home, because from what I experienced and learned this will be one of the biggest part of my life. From what everybody heart that Russia and America do not have good relationships, but from my experience in both my country and America  triad international students and tourist great and respectful.



Finally, I’m taking this class because I’m interested in taking something new and something that I have never experienced, as I said I came to this country for new experience so this class one of them. Also I took this class because I have problems with reading, my problem is that i can’t start reading book or I just can’t make myself do that so I think his class can help me with that. I really happy and excited about this class and what this class can give me.

The name of the play is “The Caucasian Chalk Circle” by Bertolt Brecht written in 1944 while he was living in America. Interesting fact about the performance is that it was initially made for Broadway, but the play didn’t go that far so students started presenting it in their schools and colleges. The play was initially translated by Eric Bentley. This play is based on the aftermath of WWII, in which the “villagers” are complaining on who will control the valley . This play focuses on an act of true love and courage performed by a servant girl named Grusha Vachnadze and how she is judged by society regarding to her choices. Ch 6/7

Chapter 6 starts with the description of the environment, and the growth of the seeds after the storm season which brought a large amount of rain on to the island. Later in the chapter, we can witness the conversation that Desiree is having with Tonton. That conversation shows the reader the conflict and the difference between the poor and the rich. Their conversation is mainly focused on Tonto describing his hometown Monsieur beau home. After listening to Tonto for a long time and hearing all those tempting things about Monsieur beau home, she is desperate to leave her village and see new opportunities and new life. "Caroline's Wedding"

The story that includes many characters and their struggle throughout the Story. "Caroline's Wedding" contains 3 main characters; the narrator Grace, older sister Caroline, and their mother Hermine. Each character has her own obstacle to get through.  The story begins with Grace receiving good news from the embassy, saying that she received U.S citizenship. She immediately called her mother and sister and shared the good news. Her mother told her immediately to make an appointment at the embassy and get her documents and her passport so that she can leave the country as soon as possible.  However, their family always had an issue with their paper works and documents.    On behave of the paper works and preparation to leave her home to porsue her future life and career, she has to stened between her mother and sisire becausethe get into fights/disagreements.
