Friar Lawrence is he the piece make or a disaster maker ?
Play Romeo & Julieta based on the war between two families, where everyone is fighting for their rights or because of their nature. This play doesn't show who is right or wrong, because people from both families hate each other or just want to kill each other no matter what. The only three people in this play who doesn't want it is Rome, Julieta and Frear Lawrens the priest. Friar Laurence is priest he is a holy man who is trusted and respected by both families and Romeo and Juliet. The Friar's role in this play is to be a friend and advisor to both Romeo and Juliet and to break the conflict between both families. In my opinion I think that Friar Lawrence in some way is a piece maker and at the same time I disagree with that statement. Friar Lawrence fighting on both sides because he wants peace in both families that was the reason he agreed to marry Romeo and Juliet. “ In one respect I’ll assistant be, for this alliance may so happy prove, to turn your households rancor to pure love” Friar Lawrence is the one who sets everything into play for Romeo and Juliet, pulling Romeo out of his mistakes of hopelessness for the two of them to marry. He is the only character who truly sets himself aside and approves the relationship between the two without any judgement. All what Friar Lawrence wants is pies and verity between two families, and by doing that he gives advices two both Rome and Juliet “ But come, young waverer, come, go with me.In one respect I'll thy assistant be, for this alliance may so happy prove to turn your households' rancor to pure love”. Julieta needs an advice about marrying Romeo so she turns to the Friar Lawrence who can offer her an advice. Friar Lawrence was confused at first from how fast Romeo forgot about his past love Rosalin and fallen in love with Julieta. The fact that he wants to heal the rift between both families doesn't stop Friar from marrying Romeo and Juliet. But at the end Friar's plan doesn't work because families just get more aggressive and nothing changes accept the fact that both Romeo and Juliet dies at the end. Marriage did not reflect on anything it just brought more disaster to the families. But in terms of the Montagues and Capulets, Romeo and Juliet are the peacemakers. Because after they both tragically died, the families grieve for their losses, and the families unite at the end. This shows us that Friar Lawrence tried everything in his power to break the revival barrier between two families, and he did but at the same time he managed to kill both Romeo and Juliet by marrying them.
