Fires in the Mirror performance.

Our in-class performances were based on the book that was assigned for us to read during summer called “ Fires In The Mirror  “. Each group had an opportunity to perform and to create their view/understanding of each perspective that this book provides us with. Each group had an assigned topic with which we had to create our little skit, and in order to do that, we had to choose a scenario from the book that connects to our topic which was violence, politics, and diversity.
Our group performance was mainly based on diversity/racism and a bit of violence. This project requireded me to have two roles in that performance; the first one was the narrator, the second was a character who explains his point of view on prejudice, racism and discrimination. The way we performed our skit was direct and clear to the audience. The structure of our performance was dull and overview so that our audience could understand the setting and nature of what we wanted to address.
The second group had a particular style of performance that was creative and interesting to watch. What they did is they merely split the structure into various little sciences in which each student delivered his/her part with his/her's point of view what is different from the rest of performance that I saw in class. The scene that they were sharing with us was about a time where a Jewish woman could not shout down the radio in the room during Shabbat. So she asked an African American boy to help here with radio because it was too loud. The boy managed to do it and made her look uncomfortable " stupid " in front of him.
The third group, in my opinion, had the best performances, because of the structure which includes the background music that they decided to put in their performance.
The way they performed their peace of the story, was put in a different perspective by using different sounds and as I said including music. Their set up was pretty simple but very formal.
