In class performance

  • Lile talk to Guy about their son's future.
  • He is an angel, he comes to see Lile, and tell her the reson why he jumped form the air ballon 
  •  Night women, talks about the tough life. 
  •  She explains her work, and the reason for that. 
  • She is talking to a girl who is pragnant and young, night women tells her how strong she has to be in order to have a kid
  • Two night womens and Lili.
  • Talking about how their son needs a job, and how they need the job/education for her son. 

what did Tuesday's in-class performances reveal about the characters and stories presented? What was interesting and what did it make you think about or realize? 



The in-class performances that were presented today were mainly based on our vision of characters in each story that we read. During the performances, we could easily define who played each role by the way he introduced the scenes in their dialogues. Most of the performances that were created contained a variety of characters from each story. The first performance was based on the second story " Wall of fire " where Lile talks to her dead husband Guy who appeared to her as an angel. The main dialogue contained the reason why Guy decided to jump from the air balloon and commit suicide. The performance its self-was interesting to watch because of how they added something new to the story and its characters. The second story was based on forth storey " Night Women" in which the hight women talks to the young girl who is 18 years old and pregnant. She tells her who she is and why she choose to pursue to be a night women and how much she suffers from providing her son with love and support. She tells the young girl how hard she will have to work to contain her future child's love and trust. The third story was a combination of two stories " Night Women " and " Wall of Fire ", this performance, in my opinion, was definitely the most interesting to watch as the hardest to understand. The plot of that performance. Based on the position that Lila took by keeping her son at school and not putting him on the list for the jobs. The night whose appeared in that performance to tell Lili what it's like to be a night women. Lili became a widow after her husband committed suicide, so the only way to bring money to the family is either work as a prostitutor a day women. The last performance was based on the last story " Night Women "; this performance was presented by my group in which. We describe the love for her son and the reason she does the job that destroys her mentally and physically. All the performances were entertaining to watch because of the variation of ideas and different themes that were put into their performances.

Ch 6/7

Chapter 6 starts with the description of the environment, and the growth of the seeds after the storm season which brought a large amount of rain on to the island. Later in the chapter, we can witness the conversation that Desiree is having with Tonton. That conversation shows the reader the conflict and the difference between the poor and the rich. Their conversation is mainly focused on Tonto describing his hometown Monsieur beau home. After listening to Tonto for a long time and hearing all those tempting things about Monsieur beau home, she is desperate to leave her village and see new opportunities and new life. "Caroline's Wedding"

The story that includes many characters and their struggle throughout the Story. "Caroline's Wedding" contains 3 main characters; the narrator Grace, older sister Caroline, and their mother Hermine. Each character has her own obstacle to get through.  The story begins with Grace receiving good news from the embassy, saying that she received U.S citizenship. She immediately called her mother and sister and shared the good news.
