New York Day Women

New York Day Women is a great story that describes the transition/transformation of one woman from one culture and country to another. In this story, the narrator Suzzete is a daughter of the main character and the reason this story is funny and entertaining. Suzzete describes a one day story of her mother where she had to follow her all along in order to make sure she was safe and confident in her decisions. Her mother arrived in New York from Haiti, however, her daughter Suzzete lived and worked there much longer. This story creates a different point of view in which the author tells us a story in which immigrant from Haiti actually becomes successful and her dream follows along. However, the transition for her mother was kinda difficult because of the different social norms, culture, and background that she came from. When her mother arrived to the city she was confused and lost, people structure and the buildings were new and weird for her to see. Suzzete provides us with the one day story where she follows her mother along for an hour in order to check on her. Throughout the walk, she sees how her mother adopting to the city streets and the people around her. She sees how her mother acting around a child that she babysits and other women in the park. Her lunch break ends and she has to go back to the office, and with a clear mind she gets into a taxi and goes back.
