Last week we finally concluded our long journey with developing and performing out IA Performance. This specific project showed me as a student how much time and effort you have to put in the assignment that level and quality, including, creativity, leadership, and communication. We’ve been working on this project from the beginning of the year step by step; at first, we read the book and learned all the stories and observed the characters. After we’ve learned that our project will be focused on the novel by the name of ( Krik? Krak!), my group and I choose to develop our performance on one of the short stories ( Night Women) ; a story about a woman who is working as a prostitute, to provide financial stability for her sons future. After three months of ideas development and completing the performance, my group and I finally developed an organized product that all of us enjoyed and were happy to delivery to the students, IB comity, and ourselves. By deepening into the project, it gave me an opportunity to explore and go deep into the production industry. During our final performance, it took me and my group two takes to complete the assignment what is devastating when it comes to project like this one. Throughout the performance, my group and I had some difficulties with completing our licence. However, we managed to improvise and deliver the main points of our dialogues. It was difficult for us to fulfil our hopes and hard work that we invested in this project: due to the new crew member and multiple dialogues that we had to add and adjust to our performance. New crew member, missing rehearsals, and other obstacles played a significant role in our production, however, I still do think that we did a solid job on our performance and delivered the content that we were expecting. This assignment played a significant role on me and helped me to develop and build up a leadership role in my group.

Ivan Kapkov IB Literature & Performance Ms. Guarino Review “The Caucasian Chalk Circle” On Friday 11/11/17 I visited a play that was adapted by my classmates. The name of the play is “The Caucasian Chalk Circle” by Bertolt Brecht written in 1944 while he was living in America. Interesting fact about the performance is that it was initially made for Broadway, but the play didn’t go that far so students started presenting it in their schools and colleges. The play was initially translated by Eric Bentley. This play is based on the aftermath of WWII, in which the “villagers” are complaining on who will control the valley . This play focuses on an act of true love and courage performed by a servant girl named Grusha Vachnadze and how she is judged by society regarding to her choices. There are two parts of the story: Part I is the story of Grisha's lifestyle and the difficult choices she must make to survive with the baby, while Part II follows and explains the care...
