My Love, My Love or The Peasant Girl.
From reading the first and the second chapter of the book, I can highlight five main elements that are constantly respite in the story/dialogues, believe, culture, religion, hope and inequality. The main character of this story is a young girl by the name of Timoune/ Desiree that described as a peasant girl, who has dreams and believes in God and destiny. At the beginning of chapter one and chapter two, I noticed a variety of sentences that were said were focused on the polytheistic belief a religion in which people rely and suppose on multiple gods. Along with polytheistic religion, there come rituals that people maintain to please Gods, and chapter two was talking about how after work people went on the top of the mountains started dancing, singing and having time for themselves.
In this world, there is always the balance between people in every discipline, and the beginning of this book states the difference between poor people “ Peasants” and reach people who obtain all the supplies from the poor. As for now, this story reminds me of Kirk Krak and the life that some of the characters lived while being on Haiti. Also by reading the first two chapters, I could see the mentioning of love and inequality where the families don't agree with each other due to their status.
