3 questions in class work

1. Select a passage from a novel you have chosen to study where a change of atmosphere impacts on the characters and the course of events. By paying due attention to the context of the passage, show how such a passage might be dramatised for an audience.
The most significant impact on the story played a simple three which stopped Daniel from going further, and what brought both of those characters together.
The change of atmosphere in this question for me means the transformation of the weather or environment. Due to the idea that Daniel was from another part of the island, he didn’t know the roads and the location, what played a significant role on his driving and might've been the reason for the accident.
In my opinion, the crash impacts both the characters and the course of events. If the accident didn’t happen, there would be a small possibility that Desiree would ever meet Daniel, and would move to the other side of the island. If the accident didn’t happen she would see the true nature of people, who only live for money and have no respect for others; Desiree wouldn’t see the real world. Finally, Desiree would be still alive living her life and dreaming.
In my opinion, while showing this passage in the performance the director has to highlight this specific moment, for the audience to visually see the way they met and the attention the Desiree showed Daniel throughout his recovery. So, in the end, the audience can compare the difference between both characters who in the beginning love each other.
Staging this specific scene would be very important due to the impact that it delivers throughout the story. The characters have to understand and maintain their style throughout the performance.

4. Select a passage from the concluding chapter of a novel you have chosen to study and show how acting, staging effects and design can combine to make it an effective ending for an audience.
Throughout the book, my favourite passage was at the end of the story, and unfortunately, it has a shocking ending; where the main character Desiree dies in the end due to the unappreciation and disrespect from people she trusted and a man she loved.
This story contains a particular and outrageous content which engaged me throughout the story. The passage that affected my perspective and my view on the characters was the last reading, which described the corps of Desiree was laying in the dirt.
Acting, staging effects and design can combine to make it an effective ending for an audience. To present this specific scene accurately, the staging has to be forthright to the audience. It has to deliver all the emotion that the characters had throughout the scene; the stage has to be identical to the original one that was written in the book. The characters have to deliver proper emotion and feelings/expressions.

8. Select a passage from a novel you have chosen to study which deals with a fantasy or dream
sequence of consequence to the narrative. How can acting and design elements be used to stage such a fantasy or dream sequence for an audience?

This story is based on people whose beliefs focused on the polytheistic belief a religion in which people rely and suppose on multiple gods.

There is a specific chapter in the book that gave a full description of four gods. In this chapter, Desiree ran away from home to find Daniel who lives in a completely different environment in part of the fertile island in Beauxhommes. On the way there she fell asleep and dreamed of all for Gods. The moment Desiree fell asleep, she started dreaming about gods.
In my opinion staging, this scene would be the most exciting part of directing due to all the ideas that you can manage to invest in the small part of the story. Since they are God, the production has to be focused on making the characters very distinguish and missionary.
