Final essay

I remember the day my sophomore year when I went to college counselling, and that day, I had to decide what classes to choose for my future career as a student. At first I was assigned to IB Lang&Lit, however, after I’ve heard couple feedback from people that participated in IB Literature Performance I immediately changed my intentions and chose to take this class; and to be honest, I do not regret a single moment in that class. Throughout two years, I had an opportunity to learn, teach, participate, and express all the thoughts on my mind. This class gave me a vast number of possibilities, I became more mature I grew as a student and as a person; I could finally perform in front of people without being scared or shine I developed as a human.  I came into this class with a small idea of what it would be; however, I changed my mind after the first week, this class wasn’t only about performing reading and writing, this class bullied people into becoming more social and open ...

Poems by Naomi Shihab Nye

Naomi Shihab. In my opinion is very talented and creative artists that create art by expressing her emotions and feelings on the paper, and providing the rest of the world with interesting thoughts and ideas. She contributes her poems to her vision of the outside world including things like politics, race, nationality, and family. From my understanding Shihad connects ger poems with each other by including certain words and lines in more than one of her poems; for example " My father and the fig tree" and " Blood " in both of those poems she talks about her father. She also has two poems that talk about her grandmother " The Words Under the Words " and "My Grandmother in the stars " by looking and those two examples we can see how dedicated Shihab is to her family and how much time she spends thinking about them. However, besides her family, she is also focused on the environment and the world arouned us and in the poem called " Two Countrie...

Emily Dickinson is a unique character that did her work in the environment that she prefered was safer and more interesting than the rest of the poets at that time. Dickinson lived in almost complete isolation from the outside world, but actively maintained many correspondences and read widely what helped her to create and progress. Throughout most of her poems, Dickinson explains her point of view on humanity and her own experience before living in the community in the past. For example one of her poems “  I’m Nobody! Who are you? “ she is pretending to have a conversation with another person similar to herself; “I’m Nobody! Who are you? Are you – Nobody – too? Then there’s a pair of us!” this three lines clearly explains her vision and her style of languag...
I’m Nobody! Who are you? Are you – Nobody – too? Then there’s a pair of us! Don’t tell! they’d advertise – you know! How dreary – to be – Somebody! How public – like a Frog –  To tell one’s name – the livelong June –  To an admiring Bog! Tell all the truth but tell it slant — Success in Circuit lies Too bright for our infirm Delight The Truth's superb surprise As Lightning to the Children eased With explanation kind The Truth must dazzle gradually Or every man be blind —
